Being self aware

How aware are you of what you do and how you do it? For instance, do you have a conversation with yourself about things you do and the way you react to certain situations?

The process of change begins with being more aware of what and how you do things. Being less self aware for example is someone reacting with anxiety to certain situations. They may started being anxious, and then continued with that strategy because 'that's what they do'. Once they know they could react differently, and have a different result ie, calmly without anxiety, they become aware of how much better they feel. Completely different emotions and new strategy. When we really do know what we do and how we do it in our brain, we naturally become self aware.

It's interesting that you can give NLP and Hypno-therapy to someone without them actually being fully aware of their patterns and buttons.

I guess you leave someone with greater capacity for self-help and change when they do really see what they're doing and even more so when a new perspective gives them alternatives.

Yes you are absolutely right. When we become more aware of what we do and how we do it, we stop analysing, and begin action to change
