You are definitely not going mad, moreover you are intelligent enough to recognise that it may well be a good thing that you do speak to someone who is a professional and not out to judge you in any way. Speaking to a stranger is often much easier than speaking to friends or family. Why? Because sometimes friends or family make judgements, or tell you what they think you should do. That's because they are speaking from their values and beliefs, and whatever advice they give you is from their perspective. Of course they may give you exactly the right advice at times, but a therapist helps you to find your own way through problems and gives you ideas and suggestions that help you to change some negative perspectives you have.
Some of the most intelligent and wisest people I know have consulted me, which has resulted in them becoming even more resourceful in life, and as they often phrase it, 'put them back on track'.
All good therapists have therapy too.It is vital for them to get rid of negatives in their lives, so they feel 'grounded' again.
In hypnotherapy, we deal with neuroses, and that's how hypnosis works so well because it really does help to change the way we think, feel and behave. What it helps less with and what Hypnotherapists are not trained in is psychotic behaviours. These kind of behaviours need more specialised practitioners.
If you are considering therapy, speak to a few therapists first, find the right one for you
