Quick way to learn how to relax!
If you can spare a few moments to read this, you may also be able to spare a few more moments to do some deep breathing.
Some people think that deep breathing is not that beneficial to reduce stress and can't be bothered to do this. Why? Because it is too simple, but spending just five or more minutes per day doing some really deep breathing can reduce stress enormously.
The next blog tells you how to breathe properly.
No matter how busy some people are, they will endeavor to find time to de-stress themselves daily. Stress is one of the largest causes of illness. It weakens our immune system and leads the way for infections and diseases to take hold. You only have to see stressed people who appear to constantly ill or are quick to pick up viruses or don't shake them off quickly. Our immune system is meant to shake off disease and viruses but not if it is compromised.
Here is what you do, and if you do this every day for a week you will notice the difference in how you are feeling. It will also reduce your blood pressure.
Lie down or sit comfortably with as little distractions as possible. Close your eyes and take a nice slow deep breath in as if you are swallowing the breath. Do this through your nostrils NOT through your mouth. Do not hold the breath, but let it creep out slowly. You should almost hear is hissing out. Get into a rhythm of breathing in and out gently, and easily. Ideally you should be breathing in and out less than ten times per minute. Do this for as long as you have time. Even five minutes per day is good. Happy Breathing!
